Medical apartheid is a real phenomena in America. To address it we must know that it exist.

Jennifer King and Attorney John Coyle join host Sumayyah Simone and Dr. Sheila Ealey to discuss Jennifer’s legal battle with Valley Hospital in an attempt to save her mother’s life.

Even though Jennifer’s mother was dying and the hospital had no treatment that could save her, they refused to try what could be life saving treatment at the family’s request.

While fighting the medical establishment in court Jennifer witnesses her mother, Nancy, take her last breaths. Jennifer and attorney, John Coyle, tell of the “sick game” played by the hospital in keeping appropriate treatment from Nancy and how the establishment held out while this mother and wife suffered until her death. “This seems like a science fiction movie … until you’ve been there.” Viewers, you need to hear this tragic story.

Dr. Eric Saunders, an optomologist from New Jersey is one of those people. Not only does he stand for what is right but he set a standard of love while he did so.

Host Sumayyah Simone about how to respond to tough situations. Saunders was fired from his job at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey as an ophthalmologist. Saunders was born with no legs as a result of his mother taking Bendectin for morning sickness.

During his childhood, he spent a lot of time in doctors’ offices and realized that there were children who were worse off than he was and decided he wanted to help by becoming a doctor. Thus, Saunders met the grueling challenge of medical school and became an ophthalmologist.
